It is no secret that Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo neighborhoods of New York City were home to a group of prolific creatives — musicians, activists, writers and artists. However, plenty of present-day residents and tourists mill around these lower Manhattan neighborhoods without considering all of the rich history that surrounds them.
Village Preservation (GVSHP), devised a unique way to engage the public, revealing some of the unseen history through an interactive exhibition titled, “Village Voices.” 21 outdoor shadow boxes placed throughout Greenwich Village, the East Village and NoHo honor acclaimed figures like James Baldwin, Jackson Pollock and Lorraine Hansberry.

Download the Membit app and begin at Christopher Park in Greenwich Village to experience these exclusive images of Dylan and Holiday in AR.
